JOB DESCRIPTION

Education / Training Requirements:

·         High School Diploma plus 2-years experience in safety related field.

Skills:

·         Excellent interpersonal skills (must be able to correspond and interact with Han-Tek employees in a professional manner).

·         Excellent record keeping and organizational skills.

·         Computer literate and be able to use Microsoft Office Suit – Outlook, Word, Excel.

Duties:

·         Establishes and posts monthly employee safety meeting schedule.

·         Conducts monthly employee safety meetings.  Updates employee safety folder for attendance (including sign-in sheet)

·         Conducts semi-annual Safety Committee meetings (including meeting minutes).

·         Orders safety equipment for employees, as needed.

·         Coordinates annual fire drill with building management and fire department.

·         Coordinates random drug testing program with Health Works.

·         Conducts monthly walk-through safety inspections.

·         Insures an MSDS binder for hazardous materials is up to date and available to all employees.

·         Insures all hazardous chemicals are properly labeled and updated as necessary.

·         Coordinates training related to handling and using hazardous chemicals (i.e., everyone working with, or potentially exposed to, hazardous chemicals will receive training on the Hazardous Communication Standard and the safe use of the chemicals).

·         Attends all OSHA inspection conferences and permanently retains all OSHA inspection reports and correspondence to and from OSHA.

·         Completes a record of occupational accidents (including hazardous material spills), injuries, and illnesses occurring on the job.

·         Available to any employee who has a question/concern related to safety or hazardous materials.

General:

·         Reports directly to the Manager, Service / Parts.
